Personal Statement
|
Having been raised by Christian parents’ active in the church, I obeyed the Gospel of Christ in 1983. I was active in evangelism and preaching the Gospel during my early years. But, it was not until later when my desire to preach was given the opportunity by God and the Church. I sought to prepare myself for service and focus on my preaching with the blessed opportunity for an education. I am convinced that God has given me the passion and dedication to preach as His humble servant. I am committed to helping others learn about the Good News of God and salvation, to strengthen and encourage others and to help develop spiritual growth and involvement. In addition, I spend time in prayer which is not only important to me, but vital for the Lord’s church as a whole, its vision, mission, unity, health and impact on the world. Also, whether in public, private or by personal example, I strive to preach the whole council of God (2 Tim. 3:16). Yet, my first obligation, as with all husbands, is to guide my own family (1 Tim. 3:4-5). But, my second obligation is to the church and unbelievers within our reach to preach, teach, counsel, visit or help in any way I can. I strive to uphold Col. 1:25-29.
