This is a church building at Cane Ridge. What is said about this place is that the "Christian Church" began here in June 28, 1804. Yet, while a sign on the road confirms this (which is maintained by the Disciples of Christ - which the Christian Church broke off from them in the 1950's), a tombstone stationed right next to this building clarifies the truth.

Here on this tombstone, one can clearly see that the Church of Christ is labeled as the correct name which happened in 1807. Now what makes this tombstone very interesting is a three-fold solution. 1. It clarifies that the Christian Church did not exists during these days (according to history). Despite their claims. 2. The Disciples of Christ movement existed after the Church of Christ did. They split from the Church of Christ over various doctrinal issues. 3. This tombstone proves by itself that Alexander Campbell nor anyone else started the Church of Christ. Alexander Campbell did not arrive in America until 1809. Two years after the 1807 existence of the Church of Christ and 5 years after Barton W. Stone preached to restore New Testament Christianity in America. However, before Barton W. Stone, the Church of Christ can be further traced back.
